Ecogold CoolFit dressage saddle pad is probably the best hot weather dressage pad out there. First of all, it combines a flexible shock absorption system with technology that manages moisture and heat dissipation. Especially relevant is the underside layer, a unique air-flow vent system called “CoolMax”. It’s engineered to quickly dissipate heat and moisture away from the horse’s body, providing a more comfortable workout. While there are many dressage pads out there, this is the best dressage pad for warm weather riding.
Includes: 2 removable 100% breathable open cell and memory foam inserts
Inserts help dissipate heat and moisture, keeping your horses back cool and dry as a result
No friction design because rubs and hot spots are horrible
Non slip materials keep saddle pad in place yet doesn’t cause friction on horses back
Flap material adds insignificant amount of bulk under rider’s leg resulting in closer contact

Memory Foam Dressage Saddle Pad
Most of all, the use of memo foam for dressage pads helps with absorbing unintentional impacts. Since the material conforms to the horses back, memory foam helps with relieving some minor saddle pinching. Ecogold has been innovating within the equine saddle pad industry since their conception. While many of their products have been imitated, the Canadian manufacturing company stays ahead of the competition using quality ingredients like memory foam and non slip materials.
CoolFit Dressage Saddle Pad
Get the best fit possible with with 2 removable 100% breathable open cell and memory foam inserts that can possibly eliminate the need for additional layers like a half pad. No foam on the flaps results in a closer, more stable riding position.

Other CoolFit Pads
As a result of their early success with the dressage pad, Ecogold came out with two more CoolFit pads:

Where you come from determines what you call this type of noseband. All three names describe the same thing: a noseband whose straps are fastened with a buckle behind the upper jaw of the horse, above the cheekbone. The straps then cross the nose on a diagonal, extending down under the bit and fasten there with a second buckle at the chin groove.
Why Use A Figure 8 Noseband?
A Figure Eight Noseband like many nosebands has a design to keep your horse’s mouth closed and prevent jaw crossing. Evasion of the bit that compromises the control you have over the horse. The figure 8 noseband purpose is visible in comparing its relatively high positioning on the horse’s nostrils to other nosebands. This high positioning of the straps does not pull the horse’s cheeks into his teeth while ensuring the nostrils are open for maximum air intake. This performance-enhancing design makes the Grackle noseband / Chessington figure 8 bridle very popular in the show jumping world and for cross country.

11 Steps To The Perfect Stick
You can have a crop with 1 or 3 colors with any popper, degree of flex, length and thickness. If you have questions while building your stick, email or call us.
1) 1st Color (3/8″) – Optional
This is a thick, 3/8 inch wide stripe. This stripe is available in 21 different colors. It’s optional because you can either use it or “skip it”. If you want your whole custom riding crop to be one of these 25 colors, select “Skip It” from the drop down menus for the 2nd color and 3rd color options.
2) 2nd Color (1/4″) – Optional
This is medium, 1/4″ wide stripe. This stripe is available in 25 different colors. It’s optional because you can either use the it or “skip it”. If you want your whole custom crop to be one of these 25 colors, select the desired color from the drop down then select “Skip It” from the drop down menus for the 1st and 3rd color.
3) 3rd Color Pinstripe – Optional
Pin stripes come in 29 different colors. It’s optional because you can either use the pin stripe or “skip it” and go with the above 2 colors (or just one). If you want your whole custom horse crop to be one of these 29 colors, select the desired color from the drop down then select “Skip It” from the other two color options.
1/2/3 Stripe Orientation – Required
This is your opportunity to let us know how you would like the stripes on your new crop to be orientated. If you want the whole crop to be a single color, select “1 Color Only”. For 2 colors, select “2 Colors”. 2 colors go side by side, pretty simple. For 3 colors – you have a few options. 1st / 2nd / 3rd puts the 3/8″ thick stripe first, the 1/4″ stripe second then the pin stripe. The other options follow this model. If you don’t see what you want, shoot us an email or simply add a note to your order at checkout. Note: there are some variations that make a weak crop so we won’t be able to build that variation. We’ll give you options if that rare choice is made.
4) Popper Style (7 to choose from)
7 popper styles to choose from. We also have a soft popper option. Note: You will be able to choose the overall length of your crop – this INCLUDES the length of the popper. IE if you choose a Straight popper (4 inches tall) and then choose a 27 inch length, your crop will be 23 inches long + the popper = 27 inches overall length.
5) Select your Popper’s color (14 to choose from)
14 different colors to choose from. All the poppers pictured here are “Straight” poppers but all our poppers come in these colors.
From left to right, top to bottom…
Dark Blue, Purple, Baby Blue, Royal Blue, Black, White, Green, Neon Green, Pink, Hot Pink, Red, Grey, Orange, Yellow
6) Overall Length
The length of your custom crop includes the length of the popper. If you’re using this custom riding crop for three day eventing, be sure to keep the length of your crop within the 30″ length rule (USEF). Our default is 27″ long – this seems to be the most popular length for adults. We suggest selected a 29 inch overall length if you are going to compete so you have absolutely no issue with the USEF rule: “If a whip is carried in the Cross-Country and/or Jumping Test, or while jumping any obstacle before these tests, it must not be weighted at the end or exceed 75cm (30”) in length.” Our whips are not weighted.
7) Handle Thickness (Thin – Thick)
This is a personal preference and typically depends on how big the hands of the crop user are. Men typically purchase a thicker handle while women purchase a thinner handle.
8) Shaft Thickness (Thin – Thick)
This will add weight to your stick. The thicker the shaft, the heavier the whip. We typically see people purchasing a Medium-Thick crop shaft.
9) Degree of Flex (Soft – Stiff)
How do you like your stick to bend over your horses butt? The Medium-Soft is the preferred flex.
10) Feathers (Optional)
Feathers are the pieces of leather below the popper. It’s mostly for looks but adds a bit more material to the strike surface. They also make a nice sound when flying through the air towards their intended target. If you don’t want feathers, select “No Feathers”.
11) Crop Base
There are two options here – the patented large cap end “hand stop” base or the more traditional small cap / table leg stopper. Most people select the hand stopper.
Name Tape: Personalize Your Custom Riding Crop
Add your name, barn name, team name, or whatever to your personalized crop. There is no limit to the number or letters / characters / numbers but the more you add, the smaller the font. We don’t charge for this service so if it’s ugly, cut it off. The personalization is printed on water resistant paper and secured to your custom crop with a high quality, clear heat-shrink material. This is NOT embroidered, it is NOT fancy, it’s just to help get your crop back if you drop it on course.
Standard Popper Vs. Soft Popper
Eventers can use either the standard popper (shown here) in its many variations or the soft popper option – we have seen both and both are USEA legal. Checkout section 7, EV114.3 – Whips. Pay attention to page 30 –“If a horse is marked by the whip, e.g. the skin is broken, its use is excessive”. If your horse’s skin is super sensitive, the soft popper option may be your best bet.
Page 32 in the 2013 rule book: “3. WHIPS. One whip no longer than 12cm (47.2 in) including lash may be carried when riding on the flat at any time… If a whip is carried in the cross-country and / or the Jumping Test, or while jumping any obstacle before these tests, it must not be weighted at the end or exceed 75cm (30″) in length. An adjustable-length whip may not be carried by a mounted rider.”
These custom riding crops are NOT weighted
