Wanting more out of a retailer
Ever been overcharged for shipping by the big, publicly traded tack shop on the east coast? How about when you first started riding and you bought that pretty bridle that broke a few weeks later – because it was crap. Have been stuck with a gift certificate or some dumb way of getting your money back for something you wanted to return? Does your retailer even care about your sport… the dedication you put in… the sacrifice… or are they just out there slinging tack for the margins?
We were sick of it. So we kicked off our own retail business in January of 2013.
Keeping It Simple
We believe there is value in keeping things simple. Like a simple return policy and a simple shipping policy. Every time we decide to just make it simple for the customer to get great gear, it’s paid off.
Investing In Good Gear
There is a LOT of crap out there. You won’t find it here. You may find inexpensive horse tack, but your a long ways away from cheap horse tack. We have noticed one thing about horse tack over the years, the good stuff never goes out of style. Jeff Bezos of Amazon once said “Find the things that won’t change in your business and invest heavily in those things.”
10 years from now, no one is going to say “I really want my bridle to break on cross country” or “yeah, so I bought these cheap XC boots, I’m so happy they rubbed a hole through my horses leg!”.
We don’t stock the fads or the trendy items, we stay focused on supplying the gear that will keep our riders and horses safe and comfortable.
