Cross Country Pads

Cross country pads are designed for the cross country phase of three day eventing. An XC pad is shaped differently from a dressage pad or an all purpose pad. They’re designed to fit the more forward flap of a cross country saddle. The iconic minimal material shape is to provide the most amount of airflow over the horses back. Each brand that designs a cross country pad does so using materials that are not typically found on a daily use pad. No slip XC pads featuring fabrics designed to stick to the saddle and the horses back are very popular in Eventing. Sheepskin is another popular material, used to remove excess moisture and heat while on course. Shock absorption is another service that XC pads provide. Naturally, colors are a big deal, too.
