Product Description
Tri Zone Over Reach Boots
Tri Zone Over Reach Boots match Tri-Zone Cross Country Boots in their strength and durability. Their contoured shape provide greater no turn capability then many other brands on the market. Double stitched velcro and ballistic materials provide greater durability, especially around strike areas. Pull tabs on velcro make removal a breeze.
Tri Zone Overreach Boots Have Extra Hoof Bulb Protection
Additional protection is provided to the bulb of the hoof with a ballistic nylon strike area. The strike plate provides protection from direct hits that would normally rip flesh and pull shoes. On the inside, shock absorbent EVA lining dissipates energy from strikes, reducing the likelihood of a bruised heel. The no turn design keeps the back of these bell boots protecting the bulb of the hoof as designed.
Double Velcro With Pull Tab
Easy, one hand removal using sewn on pull tabs.
Why Wear Over Reach Boots?
The point of you spending money on over reach boots / bell boots is to protect your horse from one thing – their hind foot. The hind hoof of a horse can do two things to the front hoof: 1) pull the shoe 2) damage the bulb of the hoof. You can think of a horse’s bulb as their heel. It’s similar to the part of your hand that’s at the base of your thumb – the meaty part. Like the palm of our hand, the bulb of a horses hoof provides cushion and structure.
When a horse over reaches, the hind shoe scrapes down the back of the pastern of the front leg, right over and sometimes through the bulb, ripping off part of the heel and likely pulling the shoe with it. This type of gait abnormality happens most often on soft ground, like a cross country course. It happens more often to horses with corrective shoes or general coordination problems.
Julia –
These are my favorite bell boots of all time. They have lasted longer than any other brand, and I have tried ALL the brands. My OTTB is a pro at destroying bell boots. He wore these longer than any other (over a year!). They fit better than the other neoprene velco brands because they are not as tall, so they sit down on the hoof better, and are long enough around to reach around the hoof and not be too tight. They have plenty of velcro length. I use them on little thoroughbred feet.
