MDC Super Sport Stirrup Iron
MDC Super Sport Stirrups features an adjustable top and shock reducing flex points. The adjustable top is for safety and comfort. Tops adjust from 45 degrees to 90 degrees. The flex points reduce shock while increasing comfort and ride-ability. Phillip Dutton & Mystery Whisper took first place at the Jersey Fresh CCI3* using MDC Super Sport Stirrups.
Phillip benefited from MDC’s patented adjustable stirrup top  and the brand’s signature wide aluminum base with its no-slip tread.

Adjustable Top:
The top of the MDC Super Sport Stirrups can be adjusted to work with your body and not against it. The MDC Super Sport Stirrups can be set at three different angles:
- Traditional angle where you can easily run up your MDC irons
- 45 degree angle that relieves 1/2 the pressure off your shin that a normal stirrup applies. This reduces leg burns while giving the rider who relies on this pressure the feeling that they want. While the 90 degree angle gives you the maximum in stirrup retrieval capability, 45 degrees is the preferred angle for the stadium and cross country phases.
- 90 degree angle reduces leather pressure across the shin by 100%. This angle is the preferred angle in the dressage phase.
Two Different Footbed Widths:
MDC Super Sport Stirrups come with the MDC signature wide foot pad. If you want to switch to a traditional width foot pad, you just unscrew a couple bolts on the bottom of the stirrup iron, pop the foot pad out and replace it with another MDC aluminum pad. All MDC stirrups with aluminum pads come with the wide foot pad. At checkout, be sure to select the “traditional” foot pad option if you want us to ship both the pads to you. We suggest you try the wide foot pads before the traditional ones.
Non Slip Stirrup Pads:
There are many differences between the MDC stirrup pads and cheese grater pads. The biggest differences is safety. The MDC pad is less likely to hold your foot during a fall then a cheese grater pad. The second differentiation is that the front teeth of the pad are removed to prevent damage to your leathers and saddle when you run up your stirrups.
