Premier Equine Eventing Boots original version with air vents, microfiber leather, and ballistic nylon. These XC boots come highly recommended for their fit, durability, and the level of protection they offer. Since their introduction to the eventing world several years ago, these boots have gone through many upgrades. We carry the most recent version of these boots. There is another version called the PEI Carbon Eventing Boots, they’re similar but even lighter weight and slightly more expensive. These originals use microfiber + ballistic nylon. Pro tip… If you’re going to get white cross country boots, the Carbon version will clean up easier due to the microfiber carbon. At a distance, both versions always look white!

Air-Cooled Eventing Boots

PEi XC boots have air-cooling technology through six vents that allows a constant supply of fresh air to flow past the tendons. Front vents accept cool air in the direction of travel while vents on the side allow heated air to flow through and away from the leg. Vents are small enough to block incoming debris.

PEi Cross Country Boots Material

Premier Equine boots for cross country are made of a 2520D ballistic nylon base layer. The second layer of microfiber leather covers the tendon and fetlock area. Microfiber leather, developed by Premier Equine in the UK, has the specific purpose of serving as a stretchy, strong (stronger than natural leather), memory foam type material for their boots.

The interior lining is made of EVA, ethylene-vinyl acetate. It’s a synthetic material that’s elastic, slip resistant and extremely durable. It’s soft to the touch and non-irritating. It will not absorb or hold water.

Hard, HEPE plates protect your horse’s legs from severe impacts. The front boots have a plate running the length of the tenon. The hind boots have the plate across the front, protecting the cannon bone. The plates have a lifetime warranty against breaks.

PEi provides a general size guide that has been relatively accurate for front boots. Hind boots can be tricky. We offer complimentary exchanges if you don’t get it right the first time. Feel free to purchase PEi fronts and PEi hinds in different sizes.

X-Small = Pony Size Cross Country Boots 7.5 inches tall (front), 9 inches tall (hind).
Small = 14.0hh – 14.3hh. 9.5 inches tall (front), 11.75 inches tall (hind)
Medium = 15hh – 16.2hh. 9.75 inches tall (front), 14.25 inches tall (hind)
Large = 16.3hh – 17.3hh. 10 inches tall (front), 15 inches tall (hind)
