Lightweight Turnout Rug

Lightweight turnout rug built in the USA by Saratoga Horseworks. The Typhoon Turnout Sheet is a waterproof, breathable turnout sheet. Cut using a European pattern, there is no seam along the back, offering the best weather protection and comfort available. Woven, ripstop nylon across the chest for comfort and added durability. Saratoga uses super high quality, freezeproof polyurethane buckles across the chest and for the belly straps, instead of metal T clips. All hardware carries a lifetime warranty and will be replaced if it breaks.

For more mild conditions, this is the only blanket you will need from Fall to Spring. Saratoga Horseworks has rated its Typhoon Turnout Sheet for between 45 degrees and 60.

Add A Liner for Below Freezing Comfort

For more demanding conditions, add one of the two liners available for the Typhoon. The Saratoga Quilted Blanket Liner brings the rating of the Typhoon down to a minimum rating of 30 degrees – just below freezing. There are plenty of places in the US that need more insulation than protection for barely freezing. The Saratoga Deluxe PrimaLoft Insulated Liner is made out of 4oz of premium PrimaLoft insulation, bringing the combination of Shell + Liner down well below freezing – your horse’s actual comfort may vary.

Lifetime Warranty

Saratoga Horseworks is proud to honor a lifetime warranty on the Typhoon turnout hardware. If you have an issue, please contact us and we will be happy to replace any pieces that break. Saratoga uses high-end plastic buckles instead of metal snaps on its blankets. Thus, the plastic offers easier on-off with gloves and will not freeze together.
