Equinavia Ice Wrap SET of 2 Wraps

Formerly known as Finn Tack ice wraps, Equinavia ice wraps for horses come in a set of two wraps that cover from fetlock to knee on most horses. These cooling wraps are just like the big red Roma equestrian ice wraps but come at a better price. A single set are great for the front legs. Two sets are great to cover the hind legs (see pics). Buy 3 sets to cover the front & hind legs.

NOW made by parent company, HORZE Equestrian / Equinavia Equestrian.

  • Includes 2 ice wraps with storage bag
  • Fetlock to knee cooling on most horses (15.3-16.2 hands) – 2 sets cover hind legs
  • Individual cells allow these ice wraps to be used even if one cell pops
  • 4 velcro straps on each ice wrap hold these wraps on tight
  • Super cold and will stay cold enough for 2 horses in most climates (about 35 minutes of effective cooling at 75 degrees outside)

Using a deep freezer set at zero degrees, these wraps freeze in about an hour. They maintain a temperature of about 15 degrees for a half hour in moderate temperatures.

Finn Tack Ice wraps for horses

With 2 sets you can cover both back legs of your horse (see pic). This is roughly comparable to the more expensive Ice Horse full hind leg ice compression wraps – but be sure to compare closely. Take a look at the pros & cons listed below before you make your decision.

Simple, All Inclusive

Apply horse ice wraps after intense training – such as a grid session or cross country schooling – or after any competition as a way to help the horse recover faster, reduce muscle pain and soreness. This type of equine ice therapy is essential for the three day Eventer. Your horse will be sore after the cross country phase, do you want him sore going into Stadium? If you want a double clear round you don’t want him sore!

The Pros

  • Inexpensive but not cheap
  • All inclusive – you won’t loose or break inserts
  • Pretty simple to operate
  • Elastic velcro holds them in place pretty well
  • If you pop one cell, the entire wrap is not trashed

The Cons

  • They take up more room in freezer then Ice Horse inserts
  • Once a cell pops, that’s it for that cell – no replacing a single cell
  • Freeze them, that’s the only option. With Ice Horse Evendura for instance, you can lose, forget or forget to freeze the inserts and simply buy a bag of ice, using the pouches on the Ice Horse to hold the ice.
  • Cooling wraps – not exactly ice wraps – they don’t get as cold as ice directly on the leg like a whirlpool boot

As long as you’re applying equine ice wraps of some type, you’re heading in the right direction.

Finn Tack Ice Wraps vs. Roma Ice Wraps

We’re not sure which ones came first, but we’re now carrying the Finn Tack ice wraps. We switched from the Roma ice wraps to Finn Tack wraps because they’re the same as the Roma ones, but cost you less. The only real difference we can see besides the color is the quality of Velcro. Finn Tack ice wraps have a higher quality Velcro. The fasteners for these ice wraps should last you for years.
