Protective Outer Shell
Flexible, strong exterior made of BASF German made TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). While many protective horse boots use this type of material, the TPU selected for the Boyd boots took months of trial and error to perfect – and has been approved by leading Event rider, Boyd Martin… so, it’s just better. The open front design of the outer shell allows the horse to feel the impact of a pole but provide protection to the leg’s soft tissue including the flexor tendons and the suspensory ligaments.
Flexible Strike Guards
The protective outer shell of the new jump boots provides great protection but it’s what’s inside that is true magic. Majyk Equipe designed the new ARX material to act as a “soft armor” inside the boot. When the outside of the boot is struck, the ARX dilatant material activates, instantly hardening and dispersing energy away from the impact area. After only a moment, ARX becomes soft and pliable again. The benefit to this technology for the Boyd Martin open front jump boots is that is allows the boots to  flow with the horse, protecting but not interfering with the movement.
 Breathable Bio-Foam Liner
Soft with a bit of texture for traction to keep the boot from slipping. Perforated eco-friendly, Bio-Foam allows the already naturally breathable material to shed additional heat. The anti-fungal material is hypoallergenic and does not contain any neoprene.
