Product Description
Ice Horse Equine Cold Therapy Replacement Packs
Ice Horse Equine Cold Therapy Replacement Packs last about 2 hours and can be used on their own or in conjunction with any Ice Horse brand equine ice boot or horse compression wrap. Once used, the cold packs take about 3 hours to re-freeze so keep one set in the freezer while using another set on your horse. The First+Ice Replacement Packs stay cold, soft, and pliable for up to two hours – enough time for a couple horses to be fully iced.
- Heat them or freeze them
- Works like crushed snow cone ice – able to conform to the leg
- Re-usable for around 20-25 times before they loose their crushed ice texture and become blocks of ice
Cold Capsule
Cold Capsule is the brand name Ice Horse uses for their cold packs. These packs mold to the horses legs for maximum coverage. They stay cold for over 2 hours. Same as the original FirstIce® packs, Cold Capsule packs are reusable. Their ability to mold to the leg is because their unique, non toxic formula forms ice crystals when frozen – just like crushed ice. When you are done, simply place your packs back in the freezer. Within hours they are ready to use again. You can typically repeat this process 20-25 times before the ice pack looses its crushed ice – like ability and turns into a typical, hard ice pack. You can then use the ice packs to keep your beer cold.
6×10 inch cold packs use for Horse Wraps and Hoof Boots
6×7 inch cold packs used for Pony sized Wraps
6×12 inch cold packs used for Laminitis boots (all sizes)
Can You Heat Them?
You can heat the IH cold packs in a microwave. Simply put them in a bowl of water and nuke them until they’re warm enough for you. Don’t melt them!
Using Them Without Ice Horse Boots
If you don’t own any Ice Horse brand boots, you can still take advantage of the Ice Horse cold packs. To secure them to a knee, fetlock or other area, try VetWrap or Tendon Grip – both work well to secure the ice pack. Don’t worry about the ice pack being directly on the horse, their hair is enough insulation to protect from damage.
