EcoGold Frictionless Dressage Pad

Ecogold Frictionless Dressage Pad helps avoid rubs on sensitive horses. If you have an ultra-thin skinned horse whose hair just falls out when you touch them, this pad is perfect for you. The magic of this pad is a result of using Teflon coated Lycra. Friction reduces significantly between the horse and saddle. Most noteworthy is the success of this product – it was the product that launched their business.

The EcoGold Frictionless Dressage Pad is an ultra-thin pad made with a layer of Lycra™ and coated with Teflon™ in between two thin layers of fabric that transfers movement and its resulting friction inside the two layers of fabric and away from the horse. This dressage pad has shown to be very effective in reducing and preventing bald spots and back bumps.

History of the Ecogold Frictionless Dressage Pad

The Ecogold Frictionless Dressage Pad is Ecogold’s first product. Weirdly enough, it developed during a textile meeting to help dress an Australian. He was going to be testing a prototype vehicle in the outback.

One of the meeting attendees was John, a textile engineer who originally trained in Europe. Consequently, another happened to be a recreational dressage rider. After the meeting which involved all kinds of high tech textile stuff, John and the dressage rider got talking about the rider’s problem with her current pad setup – it was rubbing her horse really bad. John ended up building the Ecogold Frictionless Dressage Pad prototype and had the rider use it – she loved it and it solved her problem. The group put several other prototypes into development and they had the pad tested with other dressage riders. After some tweaking, they finally put it into production under the business name, Ecogold.

Unlike many large manufacturing companies, Ecogold is a family owned business. Ecogold makes their products in Montreal, Canada while using sustainable manufacturing methods.
