Clincher Browbands

Clincher browbands are made by Vespucci, an Italian equestrian brand. There are two types of metal available: brass or silver (color, not actually silver). The silver clincher browband and the brass clincher browband are available in cob and horse lengths. There are three different leather backing available: Black, Brown, and Oakbark. The clincher browbands are about .75 inch or 2cm wide, their length depends on the size (Cob / Horse / OS).

Looking for a browband for a double bridle? The Queen Swarovski Crystal browband comes in a special Weymouth / double bridle size that has larger ends, accommodating the wider crowpiece of double bridles.

• Solid row of clinched stainless steel (“silver”) or brass
• Stylish stitching above and below the clinched metal
• Back of browband has padding made of a material that matches the leather of the browband

As with all fine Italian leather, we suggest cleaning your clincher browband with Amerigo leather cleaner.

About Clinching Metal

Clinching is a technical term that describes the joining of thin metal sheets to something else (other metal or in our case, leather) without additional components. This happens using specialized machinery and tools. Clinched browbands are usually pretty durable, surviving for a long time without repairs. This is because the act of clinching doesn’t require any adhesives which can break down over time, requiring repair or replacement.

Other Sizes Available

If you would like a clincher browband in oversize (17-inch length) we can make a special order. A single browband will cost more but if you purchase at least 3, we can provide a substantial discount on the price/browband (about 30%). Lead time is 16-20 weeks as these are custom made.
