Bates Easy Change Gullet System

The Bates Easy-Change Gullet System is part of Bates Saddle EASY-CHANGE® Fit Solution.

A little history on the importance of the Fit Solution.

Over the past several decades, Bates Australia has had the goal to reshape the saddle fitting industry. They wanted to redesign saddles to improve comfort and performance for both rider and horse. Starting with their unique lateral flexion design in the 1970’s, Bates continued to evolve with both rider and horse in mind. Eventually, Bates developed the CAIR® panel system.

The CAIR® panels are still used today, in combination with flocked panels, in Bates EASY-CHANGE® Fit Solution. This solution is a combination of two main systems: EASY-CHANGE® Gullet System and EASY-CHANGE® Riser system. Designed to allow expert and timely changing and fitting of a saddle to horse and rider for comfort and performance.

Bates Easy-Change Gullet System allows you to alter the width of the Elastiflex™ tree in Bates Saddles.  The Elastiflex™ tree, unique to Bates Saddles, runs the length of the saddle. The EASY-CHANGE® Gullet System readily adjusts the Elastiflex™ tree. The pack includes five gullet plates and all the fixings for fitting them in the saddle. Gullet plate determines tree width.  Gullet plate fits between tree points and runs from waste to tree points. The gullet plate are rigid to prevent spread/shape altering. The color denotes the size.  NOTE: medium/black gullet not included. It is standard in Bates saddles, except for high wither (medium narrow/green gullet)
