Amerigo Protector Dressage Girth
Amerigo Protector Dressage Girth is a shaped dressage girth / long billet girth. The design of the shape on the sides alleviates the horse’s elbow area from girth rubs. The large area of the girth is not for stud protection. It’s a unique design that redirects pressure from the horse’s sensitive rib cage area towards the less sensitive sternum area. Amerigo made this protector dressage girth with calfskin and Vibram rubber. The use of high-quality rubber, “Vibram brand rubber” on this anatomic dressage girth helps with strength and stability without sacrificing flexibility. It’s the same quality rubber you will find on good hiking boots. Amerigo also uses this rubber on their stud girths.
- First, there is the anatomic design which reduces rubs to horse’s elbow area.
- Roller buckles for smooth, easy adjustment from the ground or even while mounted.
- Unique width of dressage girth reduces pressure on rib cage, increasing freedom of movement
- There are also three sets of billet keepers for any length billet – great dressage girth for monoflap saddles
- The flexibility of girth enhanced by Vibram rubber without sacrificing strength or stability.
- In addition, the elastic used is for structural stability and not for stretch.
- does not stretch beyond that of quality leather
- Martingale hardware attached using nylon to further increase durability.
High Quality You Have To See
When we tried out the Amerigo Protector Dressage Girth, we were impressed with the quality of materials and the workmanship. There is a clear attention to detail in the design and manufacturing of this short girth. Double stitched everywhere, cut perfectly with fantastic attention to detail. Most impressive are the little things like the nylon reinforced D-ring and three sets of billet keepers. Amerigo products are expensive but to truly understand why you have to get them in your hands. The super soft calfskin leather is begging for your horse’s belly!
Also Known As…
Just like any other sport, Eventers have their own language. While most of our riders refer to this type of girth as an anatomic dressage girth, the manufacturing name is the Amerigo Protector Short Girth with Vibram.
