Waterproof Riding Blanket

Waterproof riding blanket with custom colors and insulation. Made in the USA. 3 layer breathable quarter sheet includes your choice of insulation: Microfiber for mild weather, fleece for cool weather or wool for cold weather. The outer shell is made of a mid weight 430 denier nylon (approximately equivalent to 1000 denier polyester). The second layer, between the insulation and the outer shell is a waterproof taslan lining.

A waterproof riding blanket is designed to keep your horse’s hind quarter warm and dry during warmups and throughout your ride in mild to cold, wet weather. A riding blanket has a hole cut it it for the saddle, allowing you to easily remove the waterproof riding blanket after your horse has warmed up. We also have a non-waterproof custom quarter sheet available.

Waterproof Riding Blanket Features

This model of waterproof quarter sheet has the saddle area cut out so you can remove the it after your warmup then replace it for cool down. It does not fit under your saddle like a riding blanket. The front of the waterproof riding blanket has hook / loop front closures (aka Velcro) for easy to removal while mounted. Euro cut leg area is stylish and reduces bulk under your leg during warmup / cooldown. Tail cord keeps blanket from riding up.

About the Materials Used

The two outer layers are made of 430 denier nylon and taslan. This combination of mid weight nylon and taslan is sometimes called a 2-ply textured nylon. It’s used frequently on very high end mountaineering clothing due to its very high wind and water resistance – perfect for your morning ride!

The wool used for these waterproof wool quarter sheets is a very warm, 23 oz, 85/15 blend by Woolrich, a family owned US company that’s been making wool products since 1830. Wool blends like this are breathable and wick moisture away to keep your horse’s hindquarters dry. We suggest using a wool safe detergent if you choose the wool lining.

Delivery Timeline and Exchanges

This is a custom made waterproof riding blanket. Once ordered,  we will confirm with you the design. You will then be provided with a delivery timeline of between 1 and 4 weeks (a bit longer for international shipments). Exchanges and returns of this product fall under our custom made product return policy – basically, if we didn’t mess anything up, it’s not able to be returned. Please let us know if you have any questions prior to making your order.
