Ecogold Fleece Dressage Pad

Fleece dressage pad built by Ecogold of Canada. While there are many sheepskin and wool dressage pads available, saving some money and cleaning time on a fleece dressage pad might be your better bet. With nearly the same benefits as a more expensive sheepskin pad, the Ecogold fleece dressage pad features Calmatech medical grade fleece. There are several benefits to using sheepskin or fleece on a horse saddle pad. Especially relevant is the natural reduction in friction and pressure points. Fleece also aids in moisture dissipation and increased air circulation. Rather important in a cross-country pad, fleece provides a nonslip surface and impact protection.

This is Fleece, Not Wool

Fleece is occasionally used for saddle pads, this is nothing totally revolutionary. Ecogold is using a medical grade fleece. Medical grade means that the fleece used, came from manufacturers and processors to support medical uses. The use of chemicals or other irritants are restricted as medical grade items are used in the body, on the body or somehow in contact with the body. This means that Ecogold is looking out for your horses best interest – not just being cheap and getting general use fleece, which would be much less expensive.

Fleece is NOT sheepskin, it’s not even wool. Fleece is a synthetic, made from PET – polyethylene terephthalate. Wool is natural. The company shaved it from a sheep or goat. Sheepskin is the hide + the wool. There are individual benefits to each and commonalities between them all.

Adjustable Inserts

This pad features adjustable inserts/shims for an improved saddle fit. You can leave them alone or move them around to better fit your saddle & the horses back. Ecogold makes their shims with open cell, high impact foam to protect the horses back.
