Fetlock Boots

Majyk Fetlock boots are used for the hind legs. The front version is called Tendon Boots. Fetlock boots protect the inside of the fetlock of the hind legs against brushing injuries. The fronts are not entirely open on these, there is a layer of velcro and memory foam. A true open front boot would only have thin elastic over the front-facing area so the horse can feel a rub against a rail. With the memory foam on these, the horse will feel a rub more than with a cross-country boot but not as much as a true open front boot.

There are two parts to these boots; uniquely molded from German grade BASF TPU. The exterior molds around the horse’s leg and provides flexion but strength to within the strike zone. The heat-sealed technology forms an unbreakable bond of the Strike Guard. The interior is two layers. First, there is the ARTi-LAGE material which is soft and pliable. The material changes with normal exercise and hardens to provide instant protection when hit. The second, is lightweight Hyperflex Bio Foam. This provides naturally breathable protection against impact. Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. These boots prevent overheating by allowing cool air to flow over the lower leg. Designed to prevent bowed tendons and suspensory injuries.

These fetlock boots match these Tendon Boots very well! The open-front hind boots found on that page match the fronts perfectly but don’t fit large fetlocks as well as these.

Majyk Fetlock Boots Strike Area

Every protective horse boot out there boasts about protection. It’s really up to you to decide what will work best. Majyk fetlock boots have an outer layer made of TPU, Thermoplastic polyurethane – plastic. It’s specially formulated almost like rubber. It’s soft and flexible. The silver/grey area in the product photo is basically a bubble. Inside is air. When struck, the outer layer flexes inwards against the bubble. When / if the bubble is completely compressed, another layer of protection is there – about 3/4 inches of memory foam.
