Product Description
Wool Quarter Sheet
Wool quarter sheet with custom colors and materials made in the USA. Available as a wool riding blanket or wool exercise rug. Quarter sheets are designed to warm up your horses back and hind quarters before / during a ride in cold weather. An exercise rug fits under your saddle like a saddle pad while a riding blanket has a hole cut it it for the saddle, allowing you to remove the quarter sheet after your horse has warmed up. The wool used for these wool quarter sheets is 23 oz, 85/15 blend by Woolrich, a family owned US company that’s been making wool products since 1830. Wool blends are breathable and wick moisture away to keep your horse’s hindquarters dry.

About the Wool Riding Blanket (Pictured Above)
This model of wool quarter sheet has the saddle cut out so you can remove the quarter sheet after your warmup then replace it for cool down. Tail cord keeps blanket from riding up.
- Saddle cut out allows on / off during ride without tack removal
- Keeps riders thighs warm… very important
- Easy removal after warmup, easy to put back on for cooldown
- Hook / loop closures for secure fit that’s easy to remove while mounted
- Euro cut leg for style, less restriction to lower leg & keeps dirty boots off blanket!
About the Wool Exercise Rug (Pictured Below)
Exercise rugs fit under the saddle just like a saddle pad. The rectangular piece of wool continues out under the saddle and along your horse’s back, draping over the hind quarters. This additional material helps warm up your horse and keep him warm during a hack. It’s not intended to be used for a full workout. Keeping the rug on will result in very warm, likely uncomfortable beast. Taking the rug off mid-lesson or mid-ride is more involved than the riding blanket. You will have to dismount, remove your tack and the blanket then re tack your horse. This model won’t cover the rider’s legs, either.
- Solid piece of wool (no cut out for saddle)
- Will not cover rider’s thighs
- Not easy to remove during ride – it fits under the saddle like a pad
- Great for a light hack that won’t get the horse too hot
